With most of us off working from home or off work completely, cabin fever is bound to kick in for all of us at some point. With that in mind I wanted to share some of the best shows on tv and streaming services that will help keep the stir craziness at bay.  These are going to be in any order as I don't think I could bring myself to pick my favourite. Game Of Thrones is banned from this list as I still haven't forgiven it for last year's ending...

Here we go then.

Watchmen - HBO/Sky Atlantic  |  1 season  |  Sci-fi/Drama/Comic Book
Watchmen is unfortunately only a single series long and the creators have confirmed that they don't plan to continue it even though they easily could. This is one of the highest rated TV series out there and the series is a great watch with slick production from HBO. Following on from the Watchmen film (not required watching but it helps) and based on the comics, the series starts relatively straight forward. In the aftermath of a co-ordinated attack on police officers in Tulsa, it's led to all officers wearing a mask to hide their identity leading some to believe the masks are an invitation to vigilantes. With several mysterious story arcs that come together by the end of the series, it's the perfect watch if you're a fan of the superhero comic book genre or find the Marvel style a bit too tame.

Rating: 95/100 🍿

Westworld - HBO/Sky Atlantic  |  3 Seasons  |  Sci-fi
Set in a Cowboy, Western style theme park, there are robot hosts who are there for the guests complete pleasure however dark those pleasures may be. This is a world where you can pay a high price to fulfil your wildest dreams with absolutely no consequences. But as we are told throughout the season "These violent delights have violent ends". I really recommend you give this one a watch! It still surprises me that more people haven't watched Westworld. It has an insanely good cast and such an intelligent story. Granted if you're looking for an "easy watch" then Westworld is not for you as you will have to focus and really pay attention to keep up with the story here.

Rating: 90/100 🍿

US Office - 9 Seasons  |  Amazon Prime/Comedy Central  |  Comedy
Now if you're looking for an easy watch then this is your show my friend, short episodes and 9 seasons to keep you going! The US office is an adaptation of the English show starring Ricky Gervais but has been arguably more successful with Steve Carell playing office manager Michael Scott. The show is heart warming and hilarious and the perfect watch for when you don't want something too heavy.  There are also a huge amount of cameos from big actors and comedians which are always fun. If you like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, then you'll love this.

Rating: 88/100 🍿

The Outsider - 1 Season  |  HBO/Sky Atlantic  |  Thriller
This is a hard one to explain without giving away how the story develops. A child is found brutally murdered with hard DNA evidence to match as it looks like it'll be an open and shut case. That is far from how it plays out. The Outsider has a supernatural element (which I can't go into without ruining the story line) as well as a lot of tense moments where if you're anything like me you'll be watching through the cracks between your fingers.

Rating: 95/100 🍿

Making a Murderer - 2 Seasons  |  Netflix  |  True Crime Docu Series
If there's a better true crime documentary on Netflix than this then I certainly haven't seen it. In my opinion this is the best docu series of it's kind by a country mile. It'll have you pulling your hair out in frustration and turn you into a stay at home detective while you watch. Is he guilty? Was he framed? This show developed a high profile when it was first released but I wanted to put this on this list just to implore anyone who still hasn't seen it, to sit down and give it a go!

Rating: 98/100  🍿

Impractical Jokers - 8 Seasons  |  Comedy Central  |  Comedy
I'm not sure how popular this show is as it's on constantly in my house but when I speak to other people they seem not to have seen it before. The basic premise is that four friends take it in turns to try and make the others do the most embarrassing/toughest tasks in amongst the general public. If they say no then they take the loss and have to do a punishment at the end of the show which they can't say no to. The guys punishments have got progressively more elaborate as the years have gone on. Take a look at one of Murr's punishments here to get the jist of just how bad they get.

Rating: 99/100 🍿

YOU - 2 Seasons |  Netflix  |  Thriller
This is a story about a love...or is it a story of a stalker? Either way, if a show can somehow have you rooting for creepy Joe then it must be doing something right. I think the second season is better than the first in my opinion but they're both a good watch and very easy to binge. We could all use Joe's book box right now for self isolation anyway.

Rating: 82/100 🍿

The Chef Show - 3 Seasons  |  Netflix  |  Cooking
I had to include a cooking show on here. The Chef show is more of a relaxed show than other cooking alternatives like Chef's table which is also a great watch. The Chef show features Jon Favreau (Iron man director and star as well as many others) cooking with chef Roy Choi in a relaxed setting often joined by other A list celebrities and Chefs. The shows episodes are 30 minutes long so it's the sort of thing you could watch before bed just to put you in a settled relaxed mind set or you could even use it to try and recreate a few of their recipes.

Rating: 85/100 🍿

Mindhunter - 2 Seasons  |  Netflix  |  True  Crime/Thriller
This show is extremely interesting, focussing on the beginnings of psychological profiling of killers in the FBI back in the 70's. It centre's around a small group formed in the FBI in order to try and prevent and predict the actions of serial killers going forward with one over arching case being teased throughout. They visit a whole host of notorious killers trying to gain insights into their motivations and drives through interviews, while attempting to implement their new knowledge to solve cases that are coming up around them.

Rating: 89/100 🍿

Jack Ryan - 2 seasons  |  Amazon Prime  |  Action
Jack Ryan goes from Analyst behind a desk to boots on the ground CIA operative in this series. This series is a little different to the rest I've recommended as it's the only "action" series that I've recommended with a good mix of action with compelling stories. This is very easily binge-able and with hour long episodes it'll keep you occupied for a little while at least.
