Visiting East Asia has been on my bucket list for a long time now, and after doing a little research, Seoul looked like it could tick that box for me looking like a vibrant city with a lot of things to do whilst still being calm, clean and commuter friendly (I promise it wasn't just the fact they have cute racoon cafe's). So we made the decision to pick Seoul as the next destination in my series of "You Have To Go Here" blog posts and boy it did not disappoint.

Desperate to go in search of some sun or at least warmth, I decided to head to Thailand for my latest "You have to go here" blog post. In typical Matt Tapley fashion, I managed to book it in rainy season, however this time unlike my trip to LA, the weather was actually pretty damn good considering the amount of money you save travelling during this time of the year. I headed to the vibrant, chaotic and seemingly massive city of Bangkok looking to cram as much as possible into my time there before retiring to the relatively unknown island of Koh Yao Noi (little long island).
Last year I was lucky enough to visit both Croatia and Canada in my first two "You have to go here!" blog posts. This is the latest in the series. I've wanted to visit the US and California specifically for about as long as I can remember now due to the awesome weather, abundance of things to do, sights to see and food to eat (as well as how insta friendly it is - @matt_tapley to keep up to date with all my LA posts). After a bumpy start for reasons I will go onto explain, Los Angeles went onto become a must-see City and one that I most definitely have unfinished business with. You have to go here!
Back in September I visited Dubrovnik - "Dubrovnik - You have to go here". This month I was able to tick another country off of my travel bucket list. I was lucky enough to be able to visit Canada and I am so pleased that I did. It was absolutely incredible and has left me with a very empty feeling now that I'm home. It's THE biggest post holiday blues I've ever had and that's saying something. Here's my trip condensed into one awesome blog post.
Recently I was lucky enough to be able to visit Dubrovnik in Croatia. As a kid I remember turning my nose up at the thought of places like Croatia or Slovenia or Montenegro. These are now THE places to go and I can totally see why! Dubrovnik absolutely stole my heart in the 5 days I was there, so I want to make sure you know what you're missing out on.
For this City Run I headed back to France for the second time in as many months. Following on my from City Runs: Paris, on this occasion I visited Nice. The Côte D'Azur is famous for many gorgeous beaches and seaside Cities and towns as well as gorgeous blue seas. Nice ticked all three of those boxes. Nice was an extraordinary place for a City Run and there's certainly an abundance of interesting routes you could include on your City Run, so I'll give you my best recommendations from waterfalls, castles and gorgeous parks in the heart of the city.
For those of you who are new to my “City Runs” series, I visit different cities at home and abroad, giving some recommendations for the best places to run and keep fit. Hopefully this will inspire you to get you outside and give you a great active experience in that city, should you ever choose to visit. So for those of you who follow me on Instagram - 1. You a real Homie. 2. You'll know that I recently visited Paris, France for the day because I have been spamming you with pictures from my trip. (If you don't follow me - @matt_tapley)
I thought I may as well write a post just outlining what I did in my total of about 7 hours in France's beautiful capital city as well as letting you know what's worth doing should you choose to visit! Obviously I cannot give you every single detail of Paris after a 7 hour trip but it'll be the best whistle stop tour you're going to find. In this instalment of City Runs, I spent the day in Paris. This city is absolutely gorgeous, it has so much charm. To be honest with you, I think if I dropped a pin in most places around the city, you'd have a pretty damn good City Runs for yourself. However, I've tried to give you the perfect mixture of architecture and nature, tourist spots and unknown gems. So here's my City Runs for Paris, France.

In this edition of “City Runs” I made the most of the glorious British bank holiday weather and headed down to sunny Brighton for the day. Brighton is such a great option for a City run because it literally has so many different types of environment to exercise in. Whether you want, beach, city, or greenery there is something here for you. In this blog I’ll take you through my day in Brighton and where the best spots are to get your exercise fix.

In this edition of City Runs, I visited Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. You might be thinking Slovenia? Really? Hell yes, Ljubljana is a small city with huge personality. With a gorgeous river running through the centre surrounded by vibrant bars, restaurants and a huge castle, all within a two-hour flight from London, it’s the perfect weekend break with potential to be a great City Run. The dirt cheap return flights also help. |
